Yes, I think corporate blogs can’t replicate the personal touch and Bar-code of ethical bloggers.

Reply[…] Check it out! While looking through the blogosphere we stumbled on an interesting post today. Here’s a quick excerpt From: Reno, NV Thursday night, 9:26pm Howdy… One of the talents I’m most proud of is my knack for naming stuff. I’m good at it because I love all forms of language, and I’m not afraid of mixing up forbidden slang and fifty-cent words to arrive at something fresh and compelling. I could, for example, have called my first course “A Really Good Tutorial on Writing Ads” and written it in proper English … and it would have promptly (and justifiably) sank to the bottom of the barrel of books abou […]

ReplyWhat a frothy mess you must have been in when you wrote this piece. The passion jumps off the page. It really IS utterly pathetic that corporations continue to try to pull over our eyes for the almighty buck. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not paranoid they’re ‘out to get me’ but I’m not surprised when they do.
See you at Joe Polish’s!
ReplyJohn, I love the term FRAUDCASTING. Sometimes we hear what we want to hear. It is a perfect description for some of the activities in internet marketing today. Tell Stan hello.

ReplyJames Brausch is also a guy who “cracks the crowd up” with his straight language on his blog. Always liked it more than formal, boring teacher language.
ReplyI like the term FRAUDCASTING.
You are absolutely correct words are so very important in ad copywriting. (Geez this sounds like I’m stating the obvious, doesn’t it? lol!)
So many are just too formal. Others waste time telling the cunsumer what they already know.
One thing I use to increase the profitability of the ad copy I write is a tool to test the words. It’s a cool program called Glyphius. It compares your copy to successful copy. It’s a great guide for improving and making successful ads.
