John “The Teacher”

Your Blog (Dope vs. Movement) was quite timely. It affected my thoughts today by sparking a ‘get-er-done’ feeling, get going, pick up the pace kind of thoughts. But it’s most timely use is as a proof source to pass on to my son. I am using it with the intent it might not just spark some movement, but that it could be the spark that sets a real fire blazing.
He’s a 20 year old, thinking life is just a bitch and there’s nothen “I” can do about it. Young blindness, fear and attitude all balled up into another inexperienced youngen.
	   Thank you,
I am giving it to him to “see” whether the light or he will bend around the corner.

Great post.

And what's amazing is our necessity to be consistent with 'who we are' - and once one starts turning off the tube and literally sits and studies marketing (copywriting as well) and makes the decision to take on clients and take some goddamn responsibility instead of talk about it...
there is no turning back. If done enough, one feels a deep pull towards doing more work. 'Work' suddenly becomes 'play'. This is absolutely no joke...It's great.
The TV remains turned off, but not due to willpower - due to change and great habits effortlessly. You're whole thought is on "I better perform a very valuable service for these clients of mine, and look after their well being" - which requires as much study of marketing and persistence to give them the highest and best yield.
Sometimes I think it's better to create those types of 'do it, or lose' situations (ie: Get yourself Hired by a client so you 'NEED' to produce)...and just motivate ones self through those means, rather than wait for a serious event to stir them up.

Ever since I pulled myself away from the telly, I'm getting more done...AND...shakin things up a bit. Some life-changing insight in that post. And, for everyone reading this...get MOVING!
